- Henderson is likely to play in Man United’s remaining games this month.
- Keane backs the Englishman to stake his claim as the Old Trafford no.1.
Speaking on Sky Sports about the 2-0 win against Manchester City, Roy Keane said: “I think Dean Henderson is ready. They like him at the club, he went out on loan, he’s come back in, he’s played a few games.
“I think he certainly has the personality to come into a big game. He’s been desperate, he’s been impatient, it’s worked out well for him with David De Gea heading back to Spain.
“Sometimes you need a bit of luck in your career, he’s got this opportunity, he’s got to take it. He’s got to say to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the next few games that he believes he’s Manchester United’s future no.1 and to give him the job.”
Henderson could play in all of the Red Devils’ remaining games in March with De Gea currently back in Spain following the birth of his baby daughter.
The Englishman managed to impress against Man City at the Etihad last Sunday, adding to his impressive tally of 10 clean sheets in 15 games across all competitions.
