NFF mourns Ukaigwe
Ukaigwe: Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) mourns It’s Female Football Administrator Henrietta Ukaigwe; after the deceased died on Tuesday morning 14th July 2020 after a brief illness.
Having founded The Female Football Interest Group(FFIG), she had also served as the treasurer of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN). During her time, she advocated for and played a huge role in the growth of female Football in Nigeria.
Her death was announced in a statement made by the chairperson of The Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL), Mrs Aisha Falode. She stated, “The management of the NWFL and the family of Ukaigwe, with deep sorrow and total submission to the will of God, announce the passing away of our board member and renowned sports journalist, Henrietta Ukaigwe. She left us this morning after a brief illness. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been duly notified and we shall be sending further information”.

The NFF secretary Dr. Sanusi Mohammed paid tribute to the deceased saying that the news came as a shock to the football federation and also prayed that God grants her eternal rest and in his words”…grant those she left behind the fortitude to bear the big loss”
