They don’t forget him despite the fact that he has not played a game in over a year.
Manchester United’s current longest-serving player Phil Jones has turned 29 years old today.
The centre-back has been with the Red Devils for almost a decade and won 5 trophies, including the last Premier League title in the 2012/13 season.
For a long time, he’s been quite a controversial figure among the supporters, but it can’t be denied that injuries have played a crucial part in the diminishing of his role at United.
Jones has not played a game in over a year since scoring in the FA Cup win over Tranmere Rovers.
Still, some fans have not forgotten him and sincerely congratulate Phil on his birthday:
Happy Birthday Phil , top Man have a great day, no matter the injuries and set backs you'll always have one of these.🎉🥳 pic.twitter.com/pZ3jwW4wK8

Happy birthday to Phil Jones.
Unlike a lot of players Phil has a Premier League winners medal in his back pocket 👊

It was only a short while back when him & Rojo were immense at the back for a period of time.
He’s been very unlucky with injuries & hung out to dry in my opinion.
Always out 100% effort in & never shirked a challenge in our shirt 🇾🇪

29, should be in his prime now, injuries have cost him. Fully fit and at his best he gets in that team over lindelof at the very least.

Happy birthday Phil Jones, you're a much better player than everybody lets on and you don't deserve all the hate you get.
