‘It is football and sometimes it happens’: Rashford not concerned by Man United’s Premier League struggles

  • The Red Devils have picked up just 10 points from their last 7 games.
  • Rashford insists the mood behind the scenes at the club remains positive.

Speaking to Financial Times, Marcus Rashford said: “The mood has been alright. We have dropped a few points in the last games but listen, it is football and sometimes it happens.

“The one thing we have done is stick together as a team and kept fighting until the end of every single game to get points and we have to continue to do that if we want to move back up the table.

“We are pleased to have advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals and that is an opportunity to win a trophy and get our hands on some silverware because that is what the team deserves, and I believe we are ready to take that next step.”

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday with an Old Trafford clash against a struggling Newcastle United side.

In addition to securing their place in the FA Cup sixth round, the Red Devils are all but through to the Europa League Round of 16 following the first-leg 4-0 win against Real Sociedad.
