ESPN: United willing to wait on Cavani’s return from injury before offering contract extension

The Red Devils are generally pleased with El Matador’s impact since arriving.

Man United are keen on waiting until Edinson Cavani returns from injury before deciding whether or not to give him a contract extension, as per ESPN.

The Red Devils, however, are happy with the Uruguayan striker’s work at the club since arriving and his influence over the squad.

United would have to pay Cavani €2m if they decided to let him go at the end of the season due to a clause in his contract.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently confirmed his side’s ambitions to sit down with the Uruguayan to finalize a contract extension after witnessing his impact at the club.

Cavani has scored 7 goals in all competitions this season and is unlikely to start against Chelsea due to a knock.
