De Gea failed to impress against West Brom on Sunday.
Souness wants Solskjaer to consider Henderson in the league.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Manchester United’s 1-1 draw away at West Brom, Graeme Souness said: “For Man United, David De Gea is making mistakes that as a manager you can only tolerate for so long.
“If your goalkeeper is making mistakes that impacts on the rest of the team and you can bet from the outfield players there’s rumblings about De Gea. Guaranteed. I think it’s only a matter of time [before Dean Henderson starts].”
De Gea should’ve done better on the cross for the Baggies’ only goal on Sunday although it was Victor Lindelof who was largely at fault for the opener.
Henderson, meanwhile, kept a clean a clean sheet against West Ham in the FA Cup on Tuesday but the Spaniard remains the first-choce goalkeeper in the Premier League.
