It’s been a long time since Barcelona conceded so much goal in a champions league fixture. Coming into the match having eliminated Napoli out of the competition, Barcelona was hoping for the same fate to follow as they face Bayern Munchen who had also eliminated Chelsea.
First half was very lovely as Bayern had gone ahead, leading 4:1 before the end of first half. With goals from Thomas Muller, Ivan Perisic and Serge Gnabry making sure they were cruising at half time. An own goal from Alaba also made sure Barcelona had something to dwell on. Messi had little to do to keep the team ticking as chances he created where no converted successfully.
Second half goal from Luis Suarez gave the catalans a come back feeling, before goals from Kimmich, Lewandowski and 2 goals from Barcelona own player Philipe Coutinho (on loan from Barcelona to Bayern) sealed the contest.
