A massive statement of intent from the 17-year-old.
Charlie McNeil was the main star of a U18 game between Man United and Man City: after a brilliant hat-trick in the first half, the forward added another goal after the break.
United won the game 4-2 which means that McNeil singlehandedly sunk his former side: he joined United from the Man City academy last autumn. After scoring his first goal, the teenager ran off celebrating and kissed the Man United badge as if to show his true colours once and for all:
Back in September, McNeil was reported to cost United up to £1.35m after he refused to sign a contract with Man City.
Before rejoining United where he started his career, the forward had scored more than 600 goals at youth level; this season, he’s already netted 12 in eleven U18 Premier League games.
